I've just purchased a phantom 530 case and 5 4pin pwm fans. For those who don't know, the phantom 530 comes with a fan controller which is connected to a fan hub which supports 10 3pin fans (up to a max of 30w).

Am I able to plug my 4pin fans into this hub?

Answers appreciated

Yes, 1 pin will just go unused. That pin is the one that allows speed control, so be aware that all 4 of these fans will be running at max all the time. There should be a little slot on one side of the connector, this will go over the tab on the back of the header on the controller. Just make sure that tab slides into the slot, 3 pins will be connected, the last will hang over the side a bit.

So I connnected all 5 fans to this hub and all worked well. I then slid the fan controller to max (as I have a 3pin 200mm fan at the front) to change it's speed and it seems as though the whole this has blown :/

No working fans and the led's connected to this controller (has an led switch) no longer work.

Dodgey product or have my 4pin pwm fans blown it up?

Great!. Spent 3days cable sleeving, cable management etc etc and now a faulty fan controller -.-.
Do you think they will allow me to remove just the fan controller and bring it back or will they need the entire case?
