Hey guys, recently I noticed my hdd (wd black) can get pretty loud ( not abnormally like clicking but it gets loud non the less) this 1tb hdd holds everything I have on my PC. If I get say a 120 gb ssd and install win7 and steam (which are my 2 main programs) will I hear my hdd while on steam and browsing the web? TIA

the HDD is only active when you are using it. So you are right, if you are only using the ssd, you will hear nothing from your HDD, but as soon as you open it say in explorer, it will make noise.

See I don't use anything else on my PC as much as chrome, win 7 ( duh ), steam, and other games. I'm planning on buying an ssd and moving the above onto it. Then i would use the hdd for storage and other programs that I only use once in a while or are not of importance to me. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't hear the hdd whilst on my most used programs if I get an ssd.
