HI Friends,
I have old 40GB IDE Hard disk(Desktop). Now unable to swtich on the desktop due to motherboard issue. I need to move the data to Laptop.

Is IDE-USB cable solve the issue. Please help me..

Thanks

Some IDE-USB cables are primitive & unreliable so you could be wasting your money. A much better way for not much more money is a mains-powered 3.5-inch external hard drive enclosure which plugs in to a USB port. Here's an example of one:

Don't worry if you're running a later version of Windows on your laptop than is shown on the product page. The enclosure will work on any Windows version from XP up to and including Windows 8 because the required drivers are already installed.
