I have an HP G60-445DX....I am a heavy user, that should probably have an i7 4th gen pc with 12gb of ram... I constantly have 6 programs open, sometimes another 25 windows... I have ADHD (clearly)... I am also GOOD with computers, but never really got into the technical side until recently. Anyway I always break ever computer I own (obv), and I finally realized the difference between simple systems and more complex, better performing systems (which I ultimately need). In my indecisiveness, as I decide to purchase a new power desktop PC, its gonna be a few months before I'm able to do so (finance wise)...meanwhile I was hoping to maybe put a few upgrades in this HP. It has 3gb RAM. I actually did a crucial scan and got this:

Memory:
DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 PC2-6400
Memory Type: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 PC2-6400, DDR2 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 4GB
Currently Installed Memory: 3GB
Total Memory Slots: 2
Available Memory Slots: 0

Okay so here's my questions...
1. I have a max. memory of 4gb...but then I read somewhere that if I'm running 32bit windows, its always 4gb, if i upgrade to 64, I can use more ram...i know this depends on system also, and slots, but i have two slots, so is it possible to put in 4gb x 2 ? instead of 2gb x 2?

(I haven't yet installed ram ever! so forgive my newbie-ness, i been lurking for quite some tyime)

Also, say the max. is 4gb, do i NEED to replace both? or can i just get one ram stick of 2gb?

Also...is it even worth it for me to do this upgrade? I will prob have to deal with a slower performing system for maybe a month or two, or even 3 or 4 .... also I was thinking of putting an SSD drive in ...a relatively inexpensive one (I only have 250gb HD on here anyway)...but again I'm thinking its old, and maybe not worth it? The computer actually didn't get used until about 10 months ago...so figure a few years of low usage then 10 months of heavy usage...any advice you guys have is greatly appreciated.
