3 Monitor don't work, Only 2 at the same time.

Hello, I'm having a problem like everyone else but they seem to get there's working.

I have 3 monitors for my gaming PC with a AMD HD7950 GPU with 4 ports 1x DVI 1x HDMI 2x mDP

I have all 3 monitors on HDMI going into my monitors and 1x HDMI into GPU, 1x DVI into GPU and 1x mDP into GPU

PC <--DVI-----------------------HDMI-->Monitor
<--HDMI---------------------HDMI->Monitor
<--MiniDisplayPort--------HDMI-->Monitor

I have a active display port adaptor so that problem is gone.

When I try and save my setting's I get a error saying unable to save settings. All 3 monitors work but only 2 work at the same time. I have tried everything and im getting really annoyed.

Any help?

You can only use 2 normal ports on an ati card and you need to use the displayport for a third monitor but you need a displayport to dvi or hdmi ACTIVE adapter.

It has to be active. Or it will not sense the third output.

I have a active adaptor though, It still doesn't work.

Ya for that price it's borderline that it's active. And your results say it's passive. They might sell a proper active one for only a few quid more so check. Over here the active ones start at around $30. Heck maybe try the VGA one if your monitor supports it.

What if it still doesnt work when I have a active one, just incase I do have one now. Any other suggestions?

Plan B would be to swap graphics cards and get one that has 2 DVI + 1 HDMI outputs. Or plan B is to buy a monitor that has a native DP input.

Or, plan C is to buy a second card for the 3rd monitor, but that would mean you'd game on only the 7950 and use Card2 for non-game stuff, like chats or browser or whatever. Assuming your mobo supports a second graphics card.

It's definitely not active, it doesn't even say it is. The price (particularly from somewhere like Maplin) and size also indicate it's not active.

I reckon that's the problem.

I hate maplins ffs. I only went there because I need that fast, now I have to wait 1 week to get on off amazon.

What one should I get?
