Far Cry 3 has Horrible Lag Spikes on New SSD

Hey there. I recently received a 250GB Samsung 840 SSD and whenever I play any games I get frequent lag spikes (from ~70 FPS down to ~25 FPS) even though I never got them on a 7200RPM HDD. I've changed nothing about my hardware in the process of re-installing windows. I made sure that my CPU was overclocked to the same clock rate in the same way with the same fan speeds and voltage. I've looked up many ways of reducing game lag but I can't find any that work for me.....I'm pretty sure it's my processor that can't keep up with the new drive but....I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated, thanks c:

Specs: AMD Fx-8210 Running with 4 Cores @ 4.2GHz, Gigabyte Windforce Radeon HD 7950 OC'ed @ 900MHz. 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM @ 1600MHz.

EDIT: I've been running at ULTRA but it has the same spikes and frame-rate on low setting...

I'm using an AMD card. But it's off in both the game and the AMD Catalyst Control Centre too.

So what should I do?

Fixed it, I had to run 4 cores @3.1GHz because the CPU was getting too hot when all 8 cores ran at once, it was designed to cool off by turning the clock speed from 3.1GHz to 1.4Ghz temporarily. By putting the processor speed down I have a slightly lower frame-rate but it doesn't spike anymore. :bounce:
