Im new to overclocking i dont even understand the concept of how the adjustments work but i decided to follow a guide my friend sent me because he was also able to overclock to 4.01GHz using stock cooler(i have a corsair H90). i followed this guide specifically:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXgji4vyh-U

After running Prime95(64-bit) for 1 second maybe not even i got a blue screen. It didnt say anything was hurt it was just shutdown to prevent damage. I was wondering if i missed something? or did need to actually increase my ram in bios to?

specs:
Zalman z11 plus
asrock n68c-gs fx
AMD FX 6300
corsair H90
7 fans: 2x140mm 2x120mm 2x80mm
EVGA GTX 660 SC
g.skill ram 4gbx2(i forgot if its team something or g.skill)
windows 7 64-bit

Here's the deal with overclocking... No CPU, Motherboard or memory module are created equally. What I mean is that even if you have the exact same configuration as someone else and they can manage some level of overclock it doesn't mean you will be able to simulate the exact same thing. You're going to have to play with and adjust your settings as needed to find the sweet spot for your specific combination of parts.
