Hi,

I am trying to recover files from a HD we removed from my sons 3 year old MacbookPro. I have the disk in EZ_DOCK enclosure and connected to USB.
A couple of times, it looked like there was some effort in mounting the disk (sounds and all) but then nothing happened. Once it showed up in Device Manager/Disk Drives briefly for a few seconds and disappeared.
Is this HFS issue or HardDisk/Enclosure issue? Appreciate any input.

You should be able to read it from windows, but it will be read only. If you want to access the drive (assuming it is not corrupted or in failure), you would need a program like macDrive (free 5 day trial). You can also use linux by running hfsplus, again assuming no corruption/failure.
