Can't overclock cpu

Hello, I have over clocked cpu's before but with my new motherboard ( MSI B85M-G43 ) the features are locked, they all show in the OC bios menu but they are faded grey and i can not access them, this is quite frustrating :/ any help would be most appreciated

PC stats

CPU- Intel I5 4670k
GPU- Gigabyte GTX 660 oc
MOBO- MSI B85M-G43
RAM- kingston hyper x 8gb dd3 (1600mhz)
PSU- ACE 750w

Do you have the most recent version of your mobo's BIOS?

Sounds like you have to change the settings to manual to overclock them.

@ anhilated: Would you know how to switch it to manual, it has an oc genie button on the bios menu but as afar as i know it don't do nothing

In the BIOS at the top or the bottom there should be something that says BIOS version. Write the version number down and look on line to see if you board has any new versions out. And like anhilated said somewhere in the BIOS there might me an option you can change to manual. If you have any pictures it would be a great help to us.

The B series chipsets are not made for overclocking, to unlock the features you need a z87 board

That board is not really designed for overclocking. It only has a 4 pin connector to the cpu. If you want to overclock, you should get a Z87 board.

Crap, hmm bios is 3.2, What is this OC genie 4 thing?, I thinks its enabled, the button is blue

There was an initial bios cheat manufacturers found to overclock the b series boards, but Intel has since locked those features out. They want you to buy the "full featured" z87 boards

"Full featured" boards are quite a bit more pricey

I meant "full featured" as in fully unlocked bios for overclocking

. You can find good z87 boards for $120-$130 from the 4 major brands

Does the shop you bought it from have some sort of return policy? Might charge a restocking fee but should take it back

I'm not sure about amazon's return policy on used items, haven't used it myself. I know they have a 30 day return policy, I'm assuming you are in the UK since you posted the price in £. Check this link and see if you find it useful.
