Hi I'm building my first pc and have a couple of old pcs with some parts. I was wondering if I should bother buying a new disc drive as i already have a rewritable dvd drive. I believe it is a lite-on one. I don't really care to much as most games I get will be downloaded from steam and such. But I want it for sometimes watching movies and installing some old games i have like age of empires and the orange box.

K well if its sata there is no need to buy a new one you should be just fine using the "lite" one.

Nope, use your old one.
The only reason to buy a decent optical anymore is its part of some professional application, or you need to use Blu-Ray or M-Disc.
