So my old laptop doesnt display anymore and i want to get some old photos and videos from it. I took out and plugged the Hard Drive into my desktop using the Disk drive cables as i had no spare but it reads the HDD as NTFS and on properties it says its 0 bytes out of 0 bytes full, but i ran a virus scan and it scanned all the files that should be there. How can i recover whats on there?

Try using an Ubuntu live disk to boot from and then attempt to mount the extra drive. If you can mount and read the drive contents then try to copy them to a temp folder on another drive or on the system drive.

It is obvious that after the NTFS partition gets corrupted or inaccessible no files can be accessed over it. So, to make reuse of the files users need to make use of Remo Software as soon as possible.
