This is my current PC build that I made in mid 2012. It was never designed for gaming just general use :
- Intel I7 2600 Sandybridge CPU with Arctic Cooler 7 Pro
- Asus P8P67 Pro Rev 3.0
- Asus Radeon HD 6770 Silent
- G7 Power Extreme PSU 780W
- 500GB Seagate Barracuda
- 8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
- Windows 7 64 bit
I don't really want to buy a next gen console, however I do want to be able to play some of the newer games to a higher standard instead of playing them on my xbox 360. These are games such as Battlefield 4, Titanfall and The Witcher 3.
So my real question is are there any new and reasonably priced Graphics Cards that I will be able to buy that will run these games no problem without me having to change much else on my current build.
Thanks

How long do you think this card would support new release games for?
I have been looking into the R9 280x, would that be any good for my current build or not? I know it has a PCIe 3.0, does this mean it is not at all compatible with PCIe 2.0 or Sandybridge CPU's?

the 280x is a good card, but here in the states its over 400USD and its slightly faster than the gtx 770 but not 80+ USD worth. It will handle games for a while, but measuring a components "future" usefulness is a guess at best to be honest. You'll be happy with either card, go for the one that's cheaper. PCIe 3.0 is backwards compatible.
