Upgrade to 8350 or 3570k?

I have a 8150 @ stock speeds and I am a bit dissapointed with its performance in newer games, mostly bf4 multiplayer. So I am going to upgrade my CPU. If I go with the amd I will have to still buy a new motherboard because I've had a few problems running it without throttling. It's a 970 with 4+1 power phase.
As bf4 is running on 8 cores it should be better with the amd one but the i5 will be better in the other games. Also the 990 motherboards are a bit cheaper and the 8350 is also cheaper.
Which one should I choose?
I will not buy it yet. I will wait until mantle patch comes and see what happens. And if it improves so I don't go below 50fps I will stay with what I have for a year more. My GPU is a 7970.

This thread has quite a bit of discussion about the two CPU's: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1837100/8350-3570k-4670k.html

Personally, I don't think you are going to see a huge performance improvement going from the 8150 to the 8350.
Battlefield 4 is also tailored to use more CPU cores, so hex/octa core proc's will perform better.

If you are willing to invest in a new motherboard, I think the 3570k or a 4th gen Intel CPU would be better.

I think your issue is with the 7970... maybe driver.

I saw a huge jump from going from a bulldozer 6200 to a piledriver 8320.

If you're only gaming then the i5 will be the best choice. If you're also looking at productivity such as video editing then the 8 cores of the FX will come into play and perform better.

Also, 8320 > 8350. It's a lower stock clocked 8350 but costs a lot less and they OC to the same point anyway.

Not the GPU. I get solid 70-80fps on ultra on an empty server. It must be the CPU. It's weird because the usage is only about 65% in all cores.

Also, this multiplayer chart says that the i5 4670k (similar to the i5 3570k) performs better than the FX 8350 with the exact same card. http://www.hardwarepal.com/battlefield-4-benchmark-mp-cpu-gpu-w7-vs-w8-1/8/

So an 8320 is just an underclocked 8350 right? So it should give same temps if they are on the same clock. Correct me if I am wrong :)

Should be basically the same yes. Every chip is different though. If you're getting a new motherboard anyway then I'd say you should go with the i5 4670k, it will give all-round better performance in games.
