I've heard from my shopkeeper that there are many 840 EVO's that crash after a few months and are less fast than the Intel ssd's.

I'm a bit skeptical about this, but am I right?

Intel 530 Series has a 540MB/s Seq.Read & 490MB/s Seq.Write and has a 5-year warranty. I believe it's the latest Intel SATA SSD offering. The 840 EVO has a 540MB/s Seq.Read & 520MB/s Seq.Write and has a 3-year warranty. It's also considerably cheaper than the Intel SSD for price per GB.

I think it was the 530 series. Do the other series (intel) have a much greater performance?
