I deleted Office Home and Student 2007 and my Vista OS has disappeared! Anyone heard of this happening. System Recovery option on startup (f11key) has no effect. At a loss for what to do next.

More about : vista

Well, it sounds like you deleted some important operating system files as well. You never, ever delete programs, you uninstall them! You can try restoring from the recycle bin, or if you have system restore active, and it is turned on by default, you can restore your system to a time before you started deleting stuff.

I actually uninstalled through control panel. While I am not a tech guru, I do know at least that much:)

And when you said vista is gone. Do you mean it is not booting up? error message?

No error message. I get the normal Compaq start screen, then a black screen with: GNU GRUB version 0.95, under that 3 different choices for solaris after 30 sec a new screen comes up trying to load Solaris Sun OS Release 5.10. After a long time, this just repeats itself. On startup, I can look at the boot menu or the F10 system pages, but the F11 System Recovery button does nothing
