So guys i am soon going to buy a 280x ut i am a little bit worried i have to change the PSU too
I shortlisted 2 PSU's which are Antec VP 550W V2 and Seasonic s2 520W

Where i live the Seasonic PSU one is around 10-15$ expensive and Antec on the other hand is cheaper so will the 280x work with Antec because I am really tight like skin tight in budget ,have to reduce whatever I can. I searched many sites but i cannot find the Amps on +12v rails on the Antec one.

P.S: I'll most probably buy the seasonic if the Antec one is not good but i am hoping it is good and will work.

Rest of the system.
8120 ( not overclocked)
8gbram
1 HDD 160Gb ( I usually keep my stuff in my 500Gb external hard drive)
no cooling fans nothing

More about : antec 550w psu 280x

Both will work. You won't pass 400w with that system. People severely overestimate power needed. If you plan on adding a second GPU in the future I would get a stronger PSU, but for that setup that would work just fine.

I had an idea that my system won't cross 400w, the main concern I have that will the amps on +12v be enough I found out that the antec one has 30 amps each on its dual +12v rail ,will that be enough? Please search about the amps because I found it on some forum idk if it's true or not

Oh yeah, with both rails carrying 30a you will be fine. If you're planning on going CrossFireX, then you'd need a new PSU anyway, but with a single 280X you'll be golden.

I believe they recommend at least 21, with a recommended 30, and that has 2 30a rails. Wouldn't call it ideal, but it should work. I would suggest pushing anything more than that though.

Any other people out there more knowledgeable on electricity out there? Am I myself missing something?

You're right

Power requirements are generally overstated so it should run fine

That Antec unit should probably have an overall amperage of 40+ amps on the +12v rail, nothing to worry about there
