Hello,
My CPU is hitting 100° Celsius when under load eg battlefield 4 and doing everyday taskes. i have no idea why it is hitting this temperature, could it be the stock heat sink is not that good. i tried to look it up but could not find many answers on how to fix it.

My PC Specs are

  • AMD Athlon x750k
    Gigabite R9 270x OC edition
    msi fm2-a75ma-p33
    WD Caviar Green 2TB
    Corsair CX500M

i have taken screen shots of CPUID

I have this same CPU with the stock cooler for now. It seems like with some newer motherboards (like mine) when you install your CPU it overclocks it on its own. This happened to me when I first installed mine and I wondered where all of the insane temps were coming from. In my case, I had to go into my bios and set it back to its stock clock settings (3.4GHz) This brought my temps down considerably. If you want to see my specs they are in my profile under personal info. Hope this helps.

will i need to get paste on top?

i will check the heat sink soon, i cannot do it myself because of a broken wrist. i will post the results when i have checked it :)

The 212 EVO or the Xigmatek Gaia would be great in that price range. It's odd that you're getting lower socket temps (TMPIN1) than your core temps though...

Try a different monitoring program like HWinfo64, it could just be HWMonitor being buggy. It's worth a shot at least.

A tube of paste comes included. You could get some Arcitic AS5/MX-4 for better cooling if you choose though.

You can buy An corsair Hydro cooler it doesnt need to refill it the Corsair H60 is a good and cheap Liquid Cooler and it has the thermal paste ready you dont need to put it.

Is this the right part of the program?

Yes. It seems that you do indeed have a temperature issue. The 212 EVO is probably the best solution.
