Hi all.

I have an old GeForce 8800 GT card (bought it just after it came out), and now I suspect, it started to make problems.

What are the equivalents today for this card?

Thanks,
Henry.

According to the chart, both of this cards are several levels above than the 8800GT. Is there a card at the same level as 8800GT or all the cards today are either lower or higher in performance than the 8800GT?

According to the chart coozie7 supplied, those cards are way above in performance than the 8800GT. I am looking an equivalent.

Well, I guess you'd have to get the HD7750
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161427
which is a bit more powerful than the 8800GT. Honestly, I'd advise against getting anything slower than the HD7770.
If by equivalent you refer to today's high-end [the GT was the high end (third most powerful after the GTX and the GTS) when it was released], then the R9 280X would be a great choice, but I'd strongly advise you to get an R9 290 if you can afford it.

Prices vary hugely at this level but yes, you can find cards like the GT640: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709&IsNodeId=1&srchInDesc=gt640&page=1&bop=And&ActiveSearchResult=True&Order=PRICE&PageSize=20 just be aware those with tiny fans tend to be very noisy!
But this GTX650 is faster and at the same price as a half decent gt640: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&ActiveSearchResult=True&SrchInDesc=gtx%20650&Page=1&PageSize=20
Which is why I suggested the faster alternatives-why pay the same for less performance?

Actually by equivalent I meant the same performance as 8800GT. I find it quite suitable for my needs (all games I play, this card plays them smoothly).

So guys, about HD7750, I have 2 questions:
1. Is it noisy? (Actually the 8800 GT is pretty noisy, and this is the only thing which bothered me in this card).
2. I see that nowadays the cards are PCIEx 3.0 interface. Will it work on PCIEX 2.0 with near the same performance as on PCIEx 3.0? (I have a 6 y.o. system).

1: Most should be quiet, the 7750 doesn't produce much heat but those with a large fan should be almost silent.
2: There may be a TINY loss of performance, a few percent at most, to all practical intents and purposes there will be no loss.

You don't seem to be in any hurry to change the card (no mention of it dying/died) so it'll pay you to have a bit of a hunt and see what turns up.
Like this: http://www.frys.com/product/6639934?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
And it performs like this: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/GeForce_GTX_550_Ti_Direct_Cu/
Be aware, this particular card is 'in store only' and 'check availability' .
