how long will amd bulldozer last

Solution
It's not THAT bad. My 6 year old has a 4130 AMD and one of my old AMD 5870's and it rocks Lego Batman 1 & 2, NFS and NFS Rivals. Yeah it Would get a few more FPS with a faster CPU, but, that old GPU has enough power to work fine for many games with that "weak" CPU....

Bulldozer was already updated (Piledriver) and quickly forgotten about and for good reason. FX 41xx processors are particuarly bad because they only have 2 modules.

You want to start looking at the FX 6300.

It's pretty terrible, not going to lie. It performs worse in many cases than the Phenoms it was intended to replace.

I can't make any guarantees on good FPS / good graphics quality (which is dependent on your GPU, granted). Most games should be playable anyway.

No you wont play at high or medium settings on "new games". Even some older games (starcraft 2, skyrim, etc) will pull pretty sluggish at high settings. You will have to play on low settings to get decent frame rates.

NO THINK AGAIN, youtube it they got games like skyrim bf4 bioshock infinite etc run at ultra setting well you can run bf4 with this fx 4130 at medium setting and is runs smooth if you run bioshock it run at ultra setting without any lag youtube it

Sure I run BF3, BF4, Bioshock Infinite on Ultra @ 1920x1080...... one system uses a GTX690, the other CrossFire 7970 Ghz editions. And they don't have the latest and greatest CPU's either..... old quad cores from 2009....

My point was, IF you AMD 4130 is weak you CAN compensate by adding an even more powerful GPU.....

I'll bet any money your AMD 4130 has "no problem" with most games if you put a GTX 780 in the system..... (you could get away with less I'm sure, your mileage may vary..)

Lol, the internet never lies. Its funny, because my intel chip was superior to the 4130, and I had a better graphics card... I couldn't run any of those on medium settings, much less on ultra. Just because its "on youtube" does not make it so. The 4130 is "fine", it will play the games "fine", it wont run them exceptionally well though. Stop pipe dreaming and make realistic expectations, and you find yourself a lot less dissapointed.

FWIW, Im running an 8320 overclocked to 4.6ghz, I still cant run BF4 on ultra very well.
