Just received my new SSD. The installation process states I should load CD software and then use a SATA to USB with SSD connected.

I don't have a SATA to USB, didn't know I needed one. Can I just install this like a normal hard drive using the Windows 7 installation disk?

I'm confused why it is calling for me to connect and install software. Thank you.

Solution
That's the procedure to follow, if you want to copy your existing os to the ssd. Connect the ssd as a normal hdd, if you want a fresh install anyway. Take care, you unplug any hdd's for the install. Windows may use the existing bootloader otherwise and that's what we don't want.

Thats probably referring to the cloning process of a laptop HDD.
If you want to install the ssd inside a pc tower, you connect the ssd to psu and the motherboard, and you just install your OS in the ssd...
