So i just got the gtx 780 the other day and when i set it up at first it ran fine. I was testing it out on assassins creed 4 and everything was working. But when i was playing it today after about 2 hours my computer shut down while playing it. I figured something had just gotten to hot so i let it sit for an hour or so and when i went back and started the computer back up the fans were going crazy and i wasnt getting a picture. I pluged my monitor back into the motherboard instead of the grapincs card and it turned on fine. Thats how iv come to the assumption that thats the problem. I didnt do any overcloaking by tge way im just running on its factory settings like everything else. Also it might be worth mentioning that after it shut down it restarted and everything was working fine and i checked the tempeture of the graphics card and it was back to normal and so i tried to start the game up again and thats when it crashed the second time and thats when i started having these problems

ya sorry to hear that on your card .. seems to be alot of that kinda stuff with these 700 cards.. not saying i had much better luck with my last 3 amd cards one was doa[sapphire] next one was working but not well [sapphire] then limped it along for awole and got another one [powercolor] and works right fired up and ran good right out of the box.[all items bought from newegg]. looking at all the issues nowadays i think quility controal has taken a backseat over sales..
i dont know whats up but i sure seem to see alot of these nvidia 700 cards with issues here at toms looking like a bad run on them or somthing and now bouth your cards dont work? not good.. if you remove all the drivers and software you installed for the cards to were when you reboot back to windows they will only have the windows defult driver to run on [ to check-- go to device manager-display- right click your card - propertys - driver - and see that driver provider is microsoft-] and see if it will go to desktop..

Thanks for the concern but i decided to just send it back to evga. I figured it wasnt worth possible risking breaking it further when i could just send it back and get another.

I tried a few things to get it working to no avail but it does still work when i take it out and hook the monitor back up to the motherboard which is how i have it now
