Hello, I am looking for a good gaming headset, I am tired of getting$10 headsets and changing them every 2 or 3 months, so Im going to buy a good one that will at least last me a year or 2.

My budget is $50, nothing more, I would love the cheaper/best, but If it must go to $50 then go for it.

I dont care about surround and any of that, I want good overall sound, with a good build since my last 2 broke because of me putting and taking em off.

I am leaning towards the Logitech G230 that goes for around $46 on amazon. But if anyone knows any other cheaper and good sound and build quality please let me know. Thanks.

Hi atf_mart,

The Astro headset really is a solid headset.

What Warp 9 is referring to is that it sometimes works out better to get a headset without a mic and then a separate clip on mic such as the Zalman mic. This is because you usually pay more for a gaming headset, but sacrifice on sound quality, where if you get a headset alone with a standalone mic you will get more bang for your buck.

That said I would still go for the Astros. They are rock solid headsets.

Hope this helps,
Fred

Buy separate headphones with a cheap mic.
Usually the quality in gaming headsets aren't that great.

For the mic, you could get this (I have one myself, but I'm using a desktop mic at the moment).
You may want to wait though because the price jumped up 7 dollars recently.

If not, any cheap microphone (or webcam built-in mic, etc) would work just fine.

Haven't heard about them before but back when I use to use headsets I would use the Turtlebeach X12's.
They were really good for the price! I'm quite sure it's ~$40.

I have a few friends who have been using their X12's since they came out and they're still rocking them.
