Just got my new XFX Radeon R9 290 and i wanted to play battlefield 4 on ultra settings. it works fine on ultra. But my fps is around 30 and sometimes it drops to about 25 and even 20 when its really bad, Fx when there is a explosion or i look at a big action. And it also gets so hot? seems like it running fine in the start, about 30 fps but still drops to the 20, but then when it get really hot i will stay at a 24 to 20 fps and thats really bad. i tought this was a amazing card and it maybe is? maybe i do something wrong. On youtube a guy had 80 fps with the same card and on ultra setting? why not me? I dont know what do to. Please help me.
Thanks

My computer parts.
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 995 processor 3.20 ghz
My ram: 6gb.
Motherboard: Asus m4a89gtd pro/usb3,socket/am3
Power supply: cooler master atx12v 700w.

Solution
Nope 85 is just fine for the 290, the 290 can run 94c all day 24/7. You will need a newer CPU if you want to take full advantage of the 290!

Okay thanks, my big brother helped me and he did something i dont understand anything about. But i got around 60-80 fps now. But is it normal that my GPU gets around 85C when im playing battlefield 4? I have speedfan and the icon says that its on fire? :p Is that normal? or is it because i need more cooling on my gpu?
