I am planning on purchasing a prebuilt computer that for $600 includes:

CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965 quad-core @ 3.4GHz
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600 CL8 Crucial Ballisticx
Hard Drive: 2TB/2,000GB 7,200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s
Video Card: Radeon HD 7850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43
Power supply: Corsair 600watt
DVD Burner
All-in-one Card Reader
Case: Rosewill Challenger
And Windows 7

I want to know if this is good for modern day gaming in games like BF4, Planetside 2, ARMA 2 & 3, and Total War Rome II.
Also, is this a good deal for the price, it seems to me like it would be but I do not know for sure.

Yes and no. I dont know where you found one, as they are discontinued, but they still hold their own. With a hefty OC you can handle a GTX 760 with it.
I can run skyrim maxed out with vsync on 60 fps constant with my 965. For 600 bucks thats not bad, but its cheaper to do it yourself.

One way to tell is to look up the individual parts on ebay in used condition.
Then filter by completed auctions. In green, you will see what they are actually worth.

I suspect the pc is an ok value, but not a roaring steal..

The parts are of decent quality but getting aged.
You can easily upgrade the graphics card, but not the cpu/motherboard.

The cpu should be easy to upgrade though, it is an AM3+ motherboard so it should support FX series just fine.

Ok, thanks. I found this guy who builds them himself so I was a little worried, but he lets you do playtests and covers under a signed warranty. I just wanted to know if the parts were good. Thanks!
