nothing happened at all

i just did my first build and there is no power whatsoever. is that a safety thing? is the psu just dead? Did I kill it? Did I kill everything?

it's a corsair cmx500 modular unit. Would the fan go on if i just plugged it in by itself?

Yea you should take it apart and put it back together. When you're done, take every single wire that isn't plugged to something and ask yourself if it really can't be plugged anywhere. Also make sure they are all plugged in at the right place AND the right side. Example: You may have a wire with 2 pins plugged in at the right place but the positive pin is in the negative hole. Just like the + and - on batteries.

ok so if i did some mis-wiring of front panel connectors this could happen... If my mobo was doa would this happen? What else would cause this, i mean, remember some cables pushing parts around a little when i was looking somewhere else....in your experience would you say the unit probably works fine and i shoould just start over?
