I have an Asus laptop that I'm trying to upgrade the ram on. As you can see in the photo, I have installed the first, easily accessible module though the one above is blocked by the laptop case. (blue module) I have to disassemble the entire laptop to replace it?

Hi
on the service manual - page 67 :
http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=K56CB&p=3&s=438&os=30&hashedid=aKe0gxjeuutBvS86

They show that you need to remove 2 screws and after removing the cap you have access to both ram slots
They not show any further instruction to install the ram modules
Try to unlock this 2-d ram and lift the edge that is below the plastic base.
It sould pop-up ..... apply some low force if it does not ....

I have to say this is very odd construction ...... you have to be able to install the ram with no extra effort .....
The other way is to disassemble the whole unit ...
