I can't figure out the cause of my current build problems. It starts up fine for the first time and I could do everything including game for hours without any issues. But when I shut it down, it doesn't start up as per normal but instead does the turns on 1 sec then turn off again cycle with the fans spinning. So when I reseat my graphics card, I can turn it on again and it asks me to reset bios settings. Then the whole thing happens all over again, it works perfectly fine until it goes to sleep/shut down then I have to reseat the graphics card again.

I've pulled every component out of the casing except the motherboard and it's still the same thing happening. I've fixed the position of my graphics card so it hardly budges at all so I don't think it's even a graphics card seating issue. Maybe it has something to do with the bios but I have no clue what else I can do.

Help?

My config is
Intel i5-4670k
Asus Z87I-Pro
MSI Lightning R7970
Crucial Ballistix 4GBx2
Silverstone ST70F-ES
Crucial H90
Crucial 240GB SSD
Fractal Node 304

Have you done a update of the bios? It will help rule out that.

Just tried that, the problem still persists. The computer seems to run fine without the graphics card though. I bought the graphics card new but should I assume it's broken in some way?

Anyone? Are there any other likely reasons that causes the computer to not start again after shutdown?

Did you ever work out what the problem was? I've had the exact same issue, but with the ST70F-ESB). I took my Silverstone back for replacement the first time this happened which they confirmed was dead and gave me a new one. I then used the replacement and had the same issue this morning. Considering I just dumped $700 to bring this PC back to life, I'd like to continue playing.

Hope this doesn't just become another post with no final answer :(
