Hey everyone, I recently purchased a pc (my first build), and now I ran into problems installing the OS. I get a free upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate through my college, but I need a windows OS already installed. So how do i get a free operating system to use on my new PC (preferably legal) so i can install the upgrade? Can i use a 30 day trial version? Thanks in advance.

Solution
I would start by asking someone at your school (whoever gives out this license) if they have an install disk for windows.

Full installation ISO files from Microsoft. You can burn them to DVD (or, maybe, boot from USB?) for installation. Of course, you need an activation key still but maybe the one you were provided with will suffice?
