Hello first time pc builder here and after about 4 hours of assembly I finished up and double checked everything. Upon powering on my monitor it came up with, " checking signal..." for about 30 seconds followed by "DVI D no signal" Everything seems to run fine: PSU, GPU, CPU fan spins, HDD, and the optical drive opens and closes. I've tried it from both the graphics card and motherboard to the same results.

Only thing I can think of is the CPU. During the build I had a little trouble installing the stock amd heatsink where the brackets wouldn't line up. One of the brackets couldn't quite reach the little plastic mount it hooked onto. Could it be the CPU? Perhaps it is installed improperly? Like I said new to PC building so this is a shot in the dark.

I don't know if it'll be of any help but here are my specs

CPU: Amd Athlon x4 760k
GPU: Gtx 660 2gb
PSU: Corsair cx 500 watt
Mobo: MSI FM2-A75MA-E35
RAM: 8gb Corsair Vengence
HDD: Western Digital Caviar black 1tb

The monitor only came with VGA/DVI and I've tried both cables on the card and mobo and still got the no display error message.
