So i was running a gtx 550 ti 2gb and i got okay frame rates on high settings in most games but i recently upgraded to the gigabyte gtx 770 4gb factory overclocked and it has been slightly underwhelming. I am seeing very little over all performance increases on most games (sc2 metro last light bf4 crysis 2) with maybe a 10 or 15 frame increase. The rest of my hard ware is a little dated but is it really holding back my card that much?

system specs
amd phenom II x6 1035t
8gbs ram
550 watt psu(planing to upgrade to a 650 soon)
also my motherboard is only pci 2.0 but most people say it doesn't make much of a difference

Solution
If you aren't happy with it, and the store accepts returns. Theres little else you can do other than to upgrade the CPU at this point.

Make sure its the CPU at fault first though, if you can reduce ingame graphics settings (resolution is a good one to use as it only influences GPU load) and framerate remains unchanged or only increases very slightly, you know you have a CPU bottleneck.
PCIe generation wont make a difference, your CPU will, its a little behind where it should be for a 770, and all the games you listed use the CPU quite heavily. You'll see a performance jump if you were to move to an i5 or 8350, preferably the former.
