Hey ive been really unlucky with monitors so far. First I had a VG248QE and that gave me massive headaches and eye strain so i returned that. Then I picked up the BenQ XL2420TE and i still get bad headaches and can notice a difference the instant i turn it on its on factory settings the only thing ive changed is the brightness down to 20. Is there anything i can do to not get these horrible headaches from using it? I don't understand why these monitors are giving me these instant headaches when im use to using TN panels anyway . My current monitor is a discontinued alienware 21.5 inch monitor and have never had a problem with it so im not sure whats going on here any information would help though. thank you for your time and sorry about the typos and formatting.

You are one of a few that seem to be very sensitive to the type of backlighting most monitors use. I don't know the solution to your problem. I've seen others like you, ask for help, but it appears it is extremely rare, so no one ever responds.

I thought the TE model was supposed to have tech to help reduce the problem, but apparently it isn't good enough for you.

You might try writing to Asus and BenQ about your issues, perhaps they have people who know what monitors may help your issue.
