my pc normally has 2 2gb sticks. my pc can max out 8gb total. so i went to best buy and bought a 4gb stick (single) now my pc crashes allot and blue screens me. any help? thanks.

(the 2gb sticks are paired)

Solution
Go into the BIOS and find DRAM voltage in the advanced page and manually change it to 1.55 (unless this is a prebuilt computer in which casethere's a good possibility that the BIOS is locked

Uh.... what's the specs of the ram sticks? If they're similar, you might be able to fudge it with changes to the voltage and timing.... (unless you're on a pre-built PC, then you're kind of screwed since they lock all that down)
