and @scout_03 i know that site what i was getting at, is my current revision enough? and even if it werent would updating the BIOS if it were in working order be bad while using my other also i have tried to call biostar but even they have moved on and can only refer me to the same downloads page

it's recommended from them to upgrade whenever changing to a new cpu

Hey scout thanks i was being derp the site says phenomII drivers are already installed as of 11\12\2010 your solution chosen as best answer

the site does not give any info on the bios version and date you may try it without updating but keep your old cpu in case .

yeah im going to drop it in if it works then ill apply thermal compound if not ill slap my old one back in and try updating appreciate the help and to both of you thanks much for all the help and very very fast responses
