Hello all,

I'm new to overclocking, but would like to overclock my new system build to get the best performance I can for my Flight Simulator X.

My motherboard (Asrock Extreme6 Z87) comes with a built in OC utility that will allow me to OC all the way up to 4.8 GHz (though the 4.6 and 4.8 GHz are in red - presumably because they are more dangerous?)

So my question is should I use this built in utility if I have never OC'd before? Does anyone have any experience? I'd greatly appreciate anyone's feedback!

Well there nothing like doing something for yourself and you won't really learn much from having a program do it for you, also ive seen auto-OC programs that put a far higher voltage then is actually need(from my own personnel experience). Overclocking isn't really that hard to learn the basics of what to do so my advice would be to go find some people who have made a tutorial(ideally with the same Hardware as you) or just read up on the basics and start from there
