Hello, I have a toshiba sattelite c55-A5310, I have read many, many items about dual boot etc..I simply want to wipe the drive and install ubuntu 12.04. I have read about it being digitally signed to motherboard etc...I had in no way planned on using widows 8 but did not know how difficult this was going to be. My question may be two-fold, how would I wipe the drive and then what problems might I have on the ubuntu installation...I would like windows 8 gone!! I cannot believe microsoft has to resort to shoving this crap down consumers throat!!

You can wipe all of your existing partition using GParted. Also if you don't want to use it, you can also delete all of your partition when installing Ubuntu.

Shut windows down completely ,not sleep or quick start. Open BIOS and turn off safe mode (that's what you call the digital sig. )
Boot to your Ubuntu install medium.
When you get to the place for replace windows say yes.
On your merry way.
