I am having a bit of trouble understanding GPU Boost 2.0. I have a GTX 780 reference and have been playing around with fan curves .ect in EVGA Precision X. What I have noticed is when I set a temperature target of say 85 degrees (with 100% fan at that temperature) and set the power target to maximum (unlinked), my card starts out at 993mhz running valley benchmark but after 30 or so seconds it clocks down to 967mhz yet the temperature is sitting around 79-80 degrees, 5 degrees away from my set temperature target? I have not even touched the voltage or offsets, this is all at stock. Not sure what is going on.

Also, how does the power target and temp target link work? With it linked, I can adjust the power target up to max however it pulls the temp target up to 94 degrees hence why I have it unchecked. Also, what does the prioritize switch do? How would prioritizing power or temperature make a difference?

Another quick question, how do the clock offsets work? What is it an offset of? This is all mighty confusing for a begginer like me. Very interesting though.

Cheers

Because its crap, it doesn't work. Max out everything, voltage, temperature target (and prioritize), power limit, then see how high you can get the clocks. Make sure to make a custom fan curve. I personally just have a straight line going from 0% at 20C to 70% at 90C, keeps it nice and quiet in the mid 80's.

You want to prioritize temperature target because you'll run into a power limit long before you hit 96C.
