Questions About Static Electricity

I noticed that when I unboxed my case, there was a large amount of static build up. Either due to the styrofoam or the cloth that it was wrapped in (I'm not sure).

I just finished building my computer, but I built it at work, so I need to transport it back home. My question is, can I repackage it the way it came in the case box or is there any risk of static electricity shorting out the computer? I thought that once the computer is assembled, that's no longer an issue, but I wasn't sure.

Thanks in advance

You touching the packaging would have would have equalized the static between you and it, and if you were grounded then it should have got rid of all of it.
Assembling a system and putting it back in the case packaging is actually fairly common, most commercial system builders do that so the packaging will be beefy enough to accommodate it. Only thing I would do is remove the graphics card from the rig unless the case features some kind of brace, and laying the box on its side if you have a particularly large heatsink.
