I actually wouldn't recommend that board. Its prone to vrm failures and has problems accepting high end 125W processors like the fx8320/8350 which it would probably throttle down to keep the vrm's cool. I would stay away from msi AMD boards.
And I wont even think about overclocking on that

They both are almost the same, but I think asus m5a97 r2.0 will be a better option.

Yes, that, (Asus not gigabyte) would be much better than the MSI, though don't try pushing it too high when overclocking, because its lacking a heatsink on the vrm's (which is why I suggested the non le version), but definitely not prone to failure like the MSI

I'm not really bothered about massive OC to be honest with you, it's only bought to replace a failed motherboard( found that was the issue from the GPU problem scremin) My current FX-4100 is run at stock and serves me fine, the 8320 I would be fine to use at stock as well to be honest. I only want to OC to "give it a go" so to speak.

If you can wait for stock to arrive, then get the Asus M5A97 R2.0. If you cant wait, then get the Gigabyte since it has a heatsink on the vrm's.

Apologies for my ignorance but what exactly are the vrms? How can you tell if it has a heatsink.

is it the silver bit on the gigabyte that is below the CPU in the image?]

nevermind, they're below the grey strip on the gigabyte right?

The vrm's are voltage regulator modules that's basically like resistors that control the amount of voltage going to the cpu. And as you know, resistors get quite hot especially with the high powered AMD 125W cpu's like the 8320/8350 and it would also help allot when overclocking, its good to keep them cool. Some motherboards have throttling features that down clock the cpu when the vrm's get too hot to prevent them from popping. It might not be a problem with the 95W fx6300 and below, but should be considered when overclocking and going for the higher end 8320/8350

Its not located below the cpu (that's the North Bridge cooling), but located next to the processor socket on the left hand side.

Notice on the M5A97 R2.0, it has a big blue one going right across it, http://

And on the le version, its bare, http://

The gigabyte also has a tiny one on the side
