New Belkin Wireless Router Showing Modem Light Yellow with no Internet Connectivity

I bought a new Double N+ Wireless Router 8820-00267ea F6D6230xx4 to improve the wireless internet performance. Since I have cable connection, there is no modem available therefore I have connected the cable to the router as specified in user guide. Now the router shows modem light yellow(require modem connection) and there is no internet connectivity. Also when I run the set up CD it asks to specify country with no drop down available for the country and does not allow me to proceed. Please help

Not quite sure what you mean by this. Being a cable internet service, there is a coax line which must be connected to a 'modem'. That modem does the translation from coax to a signal the router can use via the ethernet cable.

Your Belkin is a router only. There must be a modem in the chain somewhere.

Thanks for the advice, i found the modem, connected the cables and now the connection seems to be in order since there is no yellow light now. The second part of the problem was the installation CD gives a message to select country whereas there is no country drop down available and it still persists. Not sure why the country drop down is not available whereas it shows clearly in the manual. I have checked to ensure the internet explorer version and it is up to date. Please advise
