I'm new to the world of linux i recently pulled a hdd out of an old computer and decided to try it, i'm also really new to coding but i'm willing to learn, so what linux should i get?
Ubuntu is a good Linux distro to start. It has many basic applications. By then, you will learn some basic terminal commands as you install programs or change some permissions, ownership, settings, etc.
thanks for the quick response, also what is the difference between kubuntu and ubuntu
Underneath they are the same. The main difference is the GUI and different applications installed by default.
I also advise sticking to a form of Ubuntu. Not because I consider it the best, or even the easiest to use, but because it has a huge wealth of documentation and guides.
