Hi everyone!

I built a HTPC, installed Windows and when I was configuring it, the system shutdown all of the sudden and never turned on back again.

I tried to connect PSU + Mobo (+CPU/+Fan) : not turning on
I tried to connect a clip between the green and the black connector o PSU + HDD : PSU and HDD turn on.

Is it the mobo or I'm not good to troubleshoot (my first build since some years and first issue...)

SanDisk Ultra Plus SDSSDHP-064G-G25 2.5"
Kingston HyperX Black Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3
SeaSonic S12II 430B 430W ATX12V
GIGABYTE GA-B85M-HD3 LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI
SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum / Steel ML04B
Intel Core i3-4330 Haswell 3.5GHz LGA 1150 54W

Thanks A LOT for your help!

Hi, It looks like a motherboard issue. Try starting the board outside the case, only CPU and CPU fan installed, both 24 and 4/8 pin power cables connected. Remove the wires from the front panel buttons and start it by shorting the 2 pins with a screwdriver. If still no fan spinning, I'd RMA the board.

It's what I thought... :(
I already asked for a RMA and they also paying the shipping so I consider myself lucky!

Have you any idead what could cause this issue?
The mobo is well fixed on this IDon'tKnowHowToCallIt mount screws.
The extra cables from PSU avec on the side (Oh gosh I should have buy an modular and/or less powerfull one).

How can It fried just like that?

Hard to say, Check if each standoff matches a motherboard screw hole, but I guess it does. A motherboard flaw, or a power supply issue (not providing power on the EPS 12V rail (for the CPU)?

I see :S
The standoff matches all screw hole and the 12V 8pin was connected.
How can I check the EPS 12V rail issue?

Try using a voltmeter, if available, or a 12V bulb. Or test it at a local shop.
