Asus VG248QE vs BenQXL2420TE vs Overlord Tempest?

I have been browsing for 3 days looking for detailed comparisons on these three monitors, but all I seem to come across are owners of each of the three types claiming superiority. Right now I have an older Dell SP2309W monitor, two of them to be precise which have given me great service over the years. However with a new machine under construction that will have dual GTX 780s, possibly even 780TI if I change my mind, I feel like it's time to employ a monitor with a much higher refresh rate.

I know the Asus and the BenQ monitors are the gold standard in competitive gaming right now, and I play a fair bit of the fps action that they were built around. I just have a hard time taking a step down in resolution 4 years later just to get a smoother experience.

A few people have been praising the overlord overclocked ips panels as the greatest thing out there for gamers, but there just aren't enough people that own them to give the amount of feedback I would like to see before dropping a grand on two monitors.

Purely for gaming use, is the color on the ips panels really so superior even to a top end panel like the Ben Q? Will an overclocked tempest monitor overcome the motion blur of high speed fps gaming?

On another forum, there is a guy who has used both. He finds the Lightboost monitors gives better motion, due to no motion blur with the use of Lightboost and his overclocked IPS display is a nice compromise between Lightboost and 120hz vs 60hz on an IPS screen.

The link I gave you about the G-sync monitor came from someone who would choose G-sync over any IPS monitor, regardless of hz. However, within a year, there likely will be G-sync IPS monitors tho choose from.

I'll be buying a 27" 1080p TN 144hz monitor with 3D Vision 2 and G-sync. I want G-sync, and I like 3D Vision. Asus will likely have a new version of the VG278HR that will accommodate me.

I own 2x Asus VG248QE. They are amazing. Crystal clear and good blacks. The modes on it are awesome too. Scenic looks incredible on colourful games like Torchlight 2 and Farcry 3.

I'd either get a VG248QE with the G-sync module, or wait for the G-sync module to be included in factory sold monitors.

I tend to have a wee bit of an addictive personality, and playing BL2 with G-Sync's creamy smoothness fed that tendency in wonderful and dangerous ways. That's probably why this G-Sync write-up here is conspiciously late, and it's definitely why my Christmas shopping was a perilously last-minute affair. I played through the rest of the Tiny Tina DLC, burned through the Headhunter packs, and found myself pondering another play-through when I finally had to stop myself and focus on Yuletide cheer rather than looting another bandit. Borderlands 2 offers very immediate feedback; it doesn't use double- or triple-buffering, which is why its FCAT and Fraps results closely correlate. The speed and fluidity of that game on this G-Sync display is like a combo meth/crack IV drip. I could probably make "faces of G-Sync" a thing, if others are affected by it like I am.

Is there official confirmation anywhere on the g-sync kit being released for the Asus monitor? I might go with a pair of those and then upgrade them when the kit is released.

They are being sold now, but not from the usual suppliers. They sold the upgrade kits to boutique shops and similar, where they are selling the kit, or monitors with the kit installed, but they aren't exactly cheep in their current form.

That will change when they are manufactured with the chip.
