Monitor's Resolution Issue [Solved]

So the other day I woke up to turn my desktop on to find the resolution a bit funky. The night before it had been perfectly normal, or at least I recall it was, but I was sick and my thought process wasn't exactly sharp. So I figured it was a simple issue that I could fix by going into the graphics settings and changing it to the native resolution, 1440x900. (This being on a Dell S1909WX monitor) The menu was saying the native was 1360x768, which I know for a fact it isn't. I then went to update the nvidia drivers to see if that would fix it but unfortunately it did not. Also, setting the custom resolution makes it all blurry.

I would imagine it's some form of driver issue or something along those lines, I just don't have the head knowledge to go about fixing it because I already updated my graphics card drivers.

Specs:
Vista 64 bit
Intel Pentium(R) Dual Core E6700
EVGA nvidia GTX 560
Using VGA to connect monitor to card.

Thanks for any help you can give,
Jordan

Thanks for the help, I simply over complicated the issue and failed to realize the monitor was telling me the VGA cord was not properly plugged in. But the advice made me shut the rig down to open 'er up thus realizing the issue. Hopefully I'll gather my pride up later down the road.
