please tell me what parts to change and what to replace with.

thanks guys

That motherboard uses a 2 generation old 760G chipset . Ideally use a board with a 970 chipset . Probably the Asrock 970 extreme3 R2.0

I would skip the cpu cooler for the time being . I doubt its that much better than the stock item [ OK maybe a bit ] , so wait till you can get a deal on a xigmatek GAIA or CM Hyper 212

Unless the RAM is cheaper than 1600 MHz its not good value . It will not add performance , so again that money is better spent on a proper AM3+ chipset motherboard

Win8 has a better license that lets you use it on another computer when that one gets old . Win 7 oem is locked to the first motherboard.
To make Win 8 work you right click and remove all the apps on the metro screen so they dont try and be the default option , and you install a free start button program called Classic Shell . Works perfectly for me

You should get high settings on most games, had the xfx version of that gpu and worked great. mobo as far as for overclocking, id get the ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+, its about $80-90 but it offers great overclocking for a fx 6000 series of chips.

I would also drop that ram and just get normal ddr3 1600 ram.

Hi mate

thanks for the reply..
this will be my first pc build.

what do you mean by ram cheaper than 1600MHz
think the ram is
Density: 8GB (2x4GB)
Speed: 1600MHz
Tested Latency: 9-9-9-24
Voltage: 1.5V
Format: DIMM
Pin Out: 240 Pin
Intel XMP 1.3

would it struggle to play games on high

I use an FX 6300 [ OCed to 4.3 Ghz ] and a 7870 for gaming .

In Crysis 3 on high at 1080p it runs 45 - 55 fps

Yes that RAM is suitable

No . Definitely not . The graphics card is good for playing back a dvd but has no gaming potential at all .

Building your own with the 6 core FX is the best budget combination available for new games .

No I just meant that's good ram, you could get something cheaper as ram will make minimal difference, well to most extents. I think tiger has some patriot ram, not the best, but 8gb for like $50. just trying to help cut corners for you, otherwise everything looks legit. I wouldn't go any lower on gpu as yes that's like $200 but anything cheaper at all will be significant performance drop.

RAM frequency doesnt make a noticeable difference so 1600 MHz is the best value/performance buy

Yes, unless you have a a10 6800 and are using the apu for graphics, the difference in ram speed/timing is minimal. So I'd look for a deal on 2 4gb sticks (I say 2 4gb sticks as that mobo and cpu are dual channel and you will get a boost if you split the total ram into two, that way instead of ram bandwidth being limited to one stick, you split the bandwidth to two sticks theoretically doubling the speed). But anything decent around $50-60 for ram will help cost, anything else you would downgrade in your system will give a significant performance boost, but I like your system, looks good. Not top end, but not $1000+ either, very good budget/performance system, which you shall enjoy high graphics on most games now, maybe have to drop the eye candy on some games, but will still look and game nicely.

Don't forget to choose the 'best answer'

If you have any other questions on your build, or while building, or after the build, just start a new thread or pm me. I started off with a very similar system, and have upgraded piece by piece, but should have a good idea of whats going on with your pc should you have any worries.
