Yes you can do that. 6 gb/s is the max harddrive transfer speed your mobo will support. It can support any speed under that
However you can only transfer data with a max speed of 3gb/s with that HDD.

For the last couple years, most HDDs have been 6gb/s. Whats the brand and model number of the HDD

Based on your specs, that looks like a seagate barrcuda 1 tb. According to amazon it is a 6gb/s HDD

Just 1 question left :D , I wan't to upgrade my cpu and mobo , and I'm not sure if that mobo has SATA2 so can I connect a SATA2 HDD on a SATA3 connector on the mobo? And I checked this is the HDD model: Seagate Barracuda Green ST1000DL002

Sata 1, 2, and 3 refer to file transfer speeds. sata 1 is 1.5 gb/s, 2 is 3gb/s and 3 is 6gb/s
The connectors are the same. All mobos support the sata variants as they have the same connectors. I think you'll be fine.

BTW correction your hdd is 3gbs..my bad.
