Pre Owned Mobo's?

So im stuck in the dilemma of either getting a new (not as good) motherboard for my FX-8120 or a really good motherboard for it which is pre owned ,is there problems with buying pre owned mobos . and what about aging ? if its 3 months old or 1 1/2 years old whats the difference

Problem with pre-owned MoB is you don't know what they have been through so your taking a risk. However haven said that; MoB have an average life expectancy of 5-8 years and I've personally have had MoB last 12 years (and some that last two seconds) . So is a 1 1/2 year old MoB worth it? Do you know it's history(O.C. lowers life expectancy)? Can you test it or has it been certified as a good MoB? It just maybe worth it.

are you able to find out if it was overclocked? is it local to you?

That is a upper level MoB I would find out if it's been OC'd if it hasn't and it's from a source you trusted I would go for.

not hard and general cheap, i would simple google the i/o shield for the model of mob and you should have several places to get one
