Hello, I have decided for my next PC i'm going to build it myself. I have never done this before, and was wondering if i could get some help. Basically i need a rig that can at least run High on most games, possibly ultra on some. I was hoping you guys could help me out with choosing parts, and what i still need, or should use otherwise, or whatever else you may suggest.

This is what I have so far :

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD A8-6600K 3.9GHz Quad-Core Processor ($104.24 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A85X Extreme4 ATX FM2 Motherboard ($94.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: G.Skill Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($81.50 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Toshiba 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video Card ($259.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: NZXT Guardian 921 RB ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ Mwave)
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 600W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply ($79.99 @ Amazon)
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($19.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $840.64

Thanks for your support and help!

Do you already have a keyboard, mouse, screen(what res?) and sound you will reuse? What about a valid windows license?

'Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs.'

another question but, it said incompatibilities, what does this mean exactly?

Thanks

I have a mouse and keyboard, still need a screen and what do you mean by "sound you will reuse" ?

Don't worry, my brother just ordered the same CPU and motherboard and they are 100% compatible out of the box so even though PCPartPicker says they might not work together, they do :) .

I just ordered a am3+ and the m5a97 mobo. Same chips and everything is compatible. That error seem to just have came up today. Odd

I didnt have to update bios or anything. And to the above i like the 2nd build with a 770. If you can fit in an fx8320 and get a 1tb hdd unless your really want 3tb

Its cause some of the older AM3+ motherboards don't have on board support for Vishera chips, they need a BIOS update first. Which is so dumb considering you would need another non-Vishera chip just to update the BIOS in the first place :p . That's why you have to be confident that it is supported out of the box.

By sound I mean either speakers headset, headphones, or some combination thereof. So you still need a monitor, huh? What resolution are you wanting(1080p tn panel for 100-150 US or 1440p ips panel for 300-400 US)? And what about a copy of windows to install on your hardware so you will be able to play your games? It's not a huge expense but also not free(unless you get it through less than totally legal means which is generally frowned upon here at toms). The other option is a free linux distro and WINE but that isn't without its problems too.

That Sounds like a good idea, i don't necessarily need 3tb's lol, and i have speakers so yea ill be fine, 1080p would be nice, if you have any suggestions. and another question, how do you tell if a mobo is a good one or not?

So you have keyboard, mouse and speakers, would like a 1080p panel, and need a copy of windows. Does the monitor factor into the budget listed? And is that 900 bucks before or after any potential mail in rebates?

The monitor does not factor into the budget, and it is before rebates

Also by the way, I'm going to OC, so can anyone guide me in the direction of a reliable mobo for a good price? thanks

So I have decided to go with a fx 6300 Processor over the fx 8320 and just OC it with a more quality Mobo. This is the new build i came up with that delivers quite good performance for the price, (i shaved off some cash ) guide me to something better if i'm wrong lol, and hopefully everything fits in the case? thanks guys!
