I recently purchased a Diamond XS51 sound card because I needed a filler item for a Staples order. I'm debating on selling it, using it in my htpc, or I could put it in my gaming rig which has Realtek ALC892 on board. I use Logitech Z323 2.1 speakers on the gaming rig. No speakers yet for htpc. What should I do with this sound card?

Well you could put it in your HTPC if you wanted as for the gaming rig the ALC892 is already a good sound chip I am not sure the XS51 is really much better. I have the same chip in my i5 rig although I did upgrade mine to a Sound Blaster Z.

Looking at the specs I would say the onboard ALC892 would do about the same as far as performance so you would not really gain much in your gaming rig.
