I will be traveling soon and need a laptop that I can play some games on, not looking to max out the latest titles but would like to be able to play most games decently. Other than that will stream movies and surf the net. Since this is my first laptop I don't have the experience others of you. For the price I'm planning to pull the trigger on the Lenovo Z710 ... Specs below, I'd go with y500 or y510 with SLI cards but I'd rather have the 17inch display. The price is 850.00 on the Lenovo site, seems like a good deal what do you guys think?

- 8.0GB PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600 MHz
- 1TB 5400 RPM
- DVD Recordable (Dual Layer)
- Lenovo BGN Wireless

The upgrade from 15 inches to 17 is actually usually less than 2 inches, given the 15 is going to be 15.6 and the 17 will be 17.3. Pull out your ruler, locate the difference of 1.7 inches is worth it for inferior graphical performance.

The deal is good. However, I'd suggest you to go for Y510p, coz GT750M/GT755M (SLI) is much better than GT745M in gaming, And, 15.6 inches are as good for gaming as 17 inches, IMO. PC (desktop) gaming is a different thing altogether.

Thanks guys for the advice, I'm going to take it and get a y500 or y510p @ 15". With the price point being the same it's obviously the more powerful and better choice despite the screen size. Much appreciated.
