So the card works, but the LED logo on the card itself does not light up?

since it's used the LED Logo may be non-working. the 690 is about half the price of a new one so a few minor things like that may be something you just gotta cope with. Thats a hell of a deal might i add.

really at that price you should not mind these minor things, go on and play hard because you go a badass gpu there.!

Is the card itself actually working?

yes the card is fully working although a little hot at idle. Im now geussing this is why the card was so cheap

use precisionx to increase your fan speed to help combat the high temperature.

You can take the card apart and tinker with the logo if you have some experience and/or are mildly brave. The cooler is decently easy to dissassemble and there's many guides on how to do so. I'd take the heatsink off anyway to apply new thermal paste. Usually by then it starts to lose its effectiveness and high idle temps is usually a warning that the paste is starting to dry up. MX-4 is great if you're willing to spend another £7 or so and apply new paste. You'll definitely see a temp drop, especially when idle.

If still under warranty contact EVGA about an RMA

Thanks i did strip it down completely reaplied tim checked all the connections including the led plug but every think looked as it should and the new tim made no difference to the idle temps so all i can think is that the led inside the rubber /pvc sheaf could have been damaged at some point

i will do an rma as a last resort , just trying to speak to someone at evga is proving a nightmare
